8 1/4 RING ON A 10MM ORNAMENTAL BAND
Oval - 1½” x ⅞” stone
There is a geological event visible in this stone a moment when turquoise-bearing solution found a fracture in the host rock and filled it, leaving behind a vivid teal ribbon that runs the full length of the stone from top to bottom, splitting cream and ochre host rock on either side like a river through open country. Stone Mountain Ribbon turquoise. 1½” tall and ⅞” wide, the ribbon precise and saturated, the host rock warm and textured around it. Set in an oxidized oval bezel with a double twisted rope border and granulation ball accents, then mounted on an 8mm hammered sterling silver band each hammer mark catching light differently, the whole surface alive. Size 8¼. This is a stone that tells its own story without any help. The silversmith’s job was simply to hold it still long enough to be seen.
