Size 9 on a 8mm Sterling Silver Hammered Band
There is a moon that rises in February over the high desert full, white, and so bright it casts shadows on the snow. This stone holds that exact light. The round White Buffalo turquoise cabochon measures 17mm across, its pale porcelain ground marked by dark dendrite inclusions and warm tan veining that drift across the surface like bare branches against a winter sky. It is a stone of quiet authority understated in color, unmistakable in presence.
Set in a raised polished .925 sterling silver bezel, the stone sits elevated above the band like a moon above the horizon present, luminous, unhurried. Below it, a broad 8mm hammered sterling silver band catches light across its hand-worked facets, its texture grounding the piece with an earthiness that balances the stone’s celestial pallor. Together they make something that feels both ancient and entirely modern. This ring belongs on a hand that moves through the world with intention.

Snow Moon - White Buffalo
White Buffalo turquoise is one of the most misunderstood and most sought-after stones in the Southwest lapidary tradition. Despite its name it is not technically turquoise it is a calcite and magnesite formation mined from the same Dry Creek Mine in Humboldt County, Nevada that produces true turquoise, found in veins running alongside the blue-green stone that gave the mine its reputation.
What makes White Buffalo so prized is its exceptional purity a near-white to cream ground marked by bold black or brown matrix inclusions that give each stone a graphic, almost calligraphic quality. It is found in limited quantity, treated as a gemstone in its own right by serious collectors, and recognized by the Smithsonian Institution as a distinct and valuable mineral. Natural, untreated White Buffalo of this clarity is genuinely rare. This stone earned its name twice over.
