Long stones have their own authority. This elongated oval moonstone is 1⅝” tall and ⅝” wide narrow enough to move easily, long enough to draw the eye its body white and warm in natural light, breaking into full blue flash when the light finds the right angle. Adularescence is the word for it, but that does not fully explain what happens when a stone this color catches the light and opens. Set in an oxidized twisted rope border, the back plate solid polished sterling silver with a multi-wire cord keeper, hand-stamped with the artist’s maker’s mark. It slides on an 18” black leather cord adjustable, wearable anywhere from collarbone to sternum. The leather grounds it. The stone does the rest.
