Tear Drop - 1⅛” x ¾”
Hold these up to the light and the whole scene changes what looked like a still landscape starts to glow, cream and rust and slate all catching fire at once. Each stone is a long marquise, 1⅜" by ¾", carved from Maligano jasper and set into an open-backed silver bezel so the stone's natural translucence can do its work. Dark dendritic branches trace across the surface like a stand of junipers at dusk, and if you look closely, silhouettes gather along the fracture lines a sparrow mid-hop, a bird caught in flight. A rope-textured border wraps the front of each stone; the reverse is left open, polished, and stamped, so the piece is as considered from behind as it is from the front. They swing free from ½" sterling lever backs.
