Size 8 on a 8mm Hammered Band
Some stones are made for the long view. This elongated oval Manassa turquoise cabochon measures 38mm x 19mm a narrow, reaching form that draws the eye upward the way a canyon wall does, the way a high desert horizon does when the sky goes on longer than you expect. The stone is vivid and alive, its electric teal ground marked by bold sweeps of warm brown matrix that move through it like weather across an open valley.
Set in oxidized .925 sterling silver with a hand-twisted rope border and single ball terminal, the bezel follows the stone’s elongated silhouette with quiet precision. Below it, an 8mm hammered sterling silver band catches light in the fractured, organic way only hand-worked silver does each facet its own small landscape. This ring sits long and elegant on the finger, confident in its proportions and unhurried in its beauty.

Long Sky - King's Manassa Turquoise Ring
Manassa turquoise comes from Conejos County in the San Luis Valley of southern Colorado high mountain country where the Sangre de Cristo range meets the wide, ancient floor of one of North America’s largest alpine valleys. The mine has been worked since the late 1800s, and its turquoise has long been prized by Southwestern silversmiths for its distinctive soft blue-green color, often suffused with warm golden or brown matrix that reflects its iron-rich host rock.
Named for the small town of Manassa nearby also the birthplace of heavyweight boxing champion Jack Dempsey the mine sits at elevation in country that feels as old and unhurried as the stone it produces. Natural Manassa turquoise is increasingly rare, its soft, muted palette a welcome contrast to the electric blues of Arizona mines. This particular stone leans vivid a Manassa with something to say.
