There is a kind of mark that only time can make. Dendritic Indian Paint Stone carries it warm ochre and russet ground crossed by black dendritic inclusions that branch and spread like ink pressed into parchment, like bare trees against a winter sky, like the kind of pattern that appears to have been drawn by hand but belongs entirely to the earth. These sister stones are each 1⅛” tall and ¾” wide, set in oxidized teardrop bezels with a segmented border and a single granulation ball at the apex. The back plate is an open teardrop frame clean, architectural, finished as carefully as the front. They hang 1¾” from sterling silver lever backs. Front and back, every angle considered.
